music is my life

… the stars looked very different. Thank you David Bowie. For everything. Grateful to live in the same neighbourhood as you did.

Sonja in Berlin
… I dropped a speaker, the size of a baseball, on my foot breaking my metatarsal. I didn’t even know a bone like that existed! Well, as I’ve found it’s very important for it to not be broken nor hurt. It was a long recovery with some setbacks but after one year I’m as good as new. And thanks to help from friends, family, work colleagues, neighbours and random people I managed to get through it quite fine. A very special thanks goes to my one and only concert buddy #anjahasi, who took very good care of me during our concert summer. A friend and her even nicked a poster for me causing the slowest escape from a crime scene in history. Thank you! #healingtakestime #nomorecrutches #positivethinking #thankyou #friendsarefamily #myfamilyisthebest #thankyouhasi #thankyoumami #dankepapi #dankeanalle #peoplearegood #feelingsafe #boneisfixed #wasfüreinjahr #learntoappreciatethelittlethings #verheilt #geduld #santapaciencia #couldnthavedoneitwithoutyouguys
Two of my happy London places
Seen by anja, London
Flying back to London early Monday for a new week. Very sleepy, but that changes when we commence our descend into London Heathrow and I can see two of my happiest places: the O2 and the Olympic stadium. Home to memories of Guns ‘n Roses, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and erm, Nashville and Shania Twain.
Both look so small from above but take up so much space in my heart.
Delta
My Mumford and Sons vinyl arrived last weekend!! 4 sides of full immersion. Couldn’t be more excited!
Sonja in Berlin…
home-made tapes
Back to London after a good run of rocksummer and found these while unpacking. I used to buy the cds and then copy them onto a tape so I could listen to it on my walkman. Painstakingly making a cover out of magazine cuttings and writing the track list. I loved it! Now they are beautiful reminders from the good old day. Good thing we don’t chuck everything out.
Waldbühne rockt
When all things fall neatly into place…. Sonja found this poster on the street, which is for the pearl jam concert we are going to today! And today it has been exactly 25 years since we went to our first ever concert. 5 July 1993 was the start of something beautiful. Musik is the best! Here is to another 25 years of gigs. At least!
Die Toten Hosen – Waldbühne
Die Toten Hosen rocken die Waldbühne! Es war richtig dufte. Vielen Dank für alles was mal war, für diesen guten Tag… you never walk alone
Belle & Sebastian @ Admiralspalast
This sums up our summer
Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) and David Grohl (Foo Fighters) smiling into the camera. Well… we gonna smile big time this summer. Can’t wait for the concert week.
