Some kind festive people started decorating the tree in the crossing of our street this past weekend. Julio and I came prepared with more baubles and tinsel – and a very tall ladder – to add our festive decorations today. The community Christmas spirit is truly alive in Gloucester Terrace.

Type and memories
As a member of Typographic Circle I was invited to the private view of NYC Type Directors Club Exhibition 2017 which was wonderful. Books, posters, cards, all beautifully designed and magnificently printed. It was lovely. And I saw this poster for a production of ‘Drei Nüsse für Aschenbrödel’ which is a classic and reminds me of my childhood and my family and Christmas. And funnily enough also reminds me of summers at Wörthersee. Loved the simplicity of the design which also managed to evoke all these memories.
Paddington 2

I was lucky enough to be treated to the cinema for my birthday. ‘Paddington 2’! I laughed and cried and left with a happy warm feeling. Want to watch it all over again. What made it extra sweet, apart from the overarching message of opening your heart and mind to people – and bears – and being kind to one another, is that they filmed so many scenes around my neighbourhood. I squealed with delight when they showed the canals of little Venice, when they swam in the Serpentine in Hyde Park, and showed platforms of Paddington Station. Go and watch it. It’s wonderful for adults and children alike. Thank you Becs! I love my birthday present
