Monthly Archives: October 2014

After a long day we managed to recover enough strength to go to Larcomar at the sea, to have some nice dinner and get some fresh ocean air. It lies in the quartier of Miraflores (where our hotel is) and used to be a beach village for the richer Limeños. With Lima growing it is now part of the city. Hopefully we will see it soon in the daylight

We had tipsyish pisco sour and lovely ceviche.

We stayed until late in the Museum yesterday and due to the local football match the traffic was more crazy than usual. We decided to have a carpet picnic within the spaces of the Museum rather than adventuring to find some place to eat. Was yummy.

We take El Metropolitano every day to get from our lovely hotel to the Museum to work. Traffic is crazy in this city and the Metrolitana is the proud of every one. A fast bus with an own line that connects south and north Peru. From there you can see how companies make their publicity on the green side of the street. Interesting.

We have made it! examples to follow! has arrived in Lima at the Museo Metropolitano. This is us. These more than 50 boxes and packing pieces are ETF!. Together with the lovely people from the Goethe-Institut Lima we have started to set up the exhibition and are very excited.

Partners in this challenging adventure are the INTE (the Institute of Science for Nature, Territory and Renewable Energies) and the Municipality of Lima.

The expedition of ETF! in Lima is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and is supported by the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety based on a decision of the German Bundestag and is assisted by the German Embassy.

It’s still me, the L-Hasi.

Summer is over, the nights are drawing closer. Today I’ve been pottering around the flat, met some friends for a chilled lunch and spotted this on my way home.

I love the Tube’s history; the roundel is one of my favourite pieces of design. I think the slight distortion in the glow adds a very interesting layer to this. I like that even if you couldn’t see the actual roundel, you could still make it out from the reflection. It’s timeless (it first appeared in its current state in 1917), it’s so well-known and instantly recognizable that you don’t need to see it to realize it’s there. Design at its very best. Of course, all thanks to Mr Edward Johnston. Ta!
