on blogging duty

I’m the other Hasi and on blogging duty today. We are both busy bees. I’ve been trying to fix my second bike so it’s ready for when visitors come (next week!!). It’s proofing way more time & money-intensive than I had anticipated. But It’s so lovely. It’s an old Steyr bike and a really beauty. And once it is fixed it will be back to its former glory. My friends have nicknamed it “The Leadpony” (after the metal, not the leader). I’m sure they mean that in the nicest possible way.

 

back in its better days, I was taking it to the market once and an old lady stopped me and told me she had been riding the same kind of bike the day she met her husband, some forty years ago. How is that for a bit of romance? Then she told me to keep my vegetables and eggs in the basket safe. I did.
