Opening Re-mex in Berlin

re-mex opening

Despite rubbish weather I went yesterday to the opening of the Re-Mex: The Power of Arts exhibition at the very beautiful Mercado San Cosme in Torstraße.

The Re-Mex project was launched by the Goethe Institut together with European and Mexican partners in order to raise awareness of the environmental problems in Mexico. For that German artists carried out workshops in Mexico with local artists and youths to develop new approaches to address environmental problems and raise awareness on sustainability. The outcomes are innovative recycling creations made from cloths and plastic, which are now shown among other things until the 28th of May at the exhibition at the Mercado San Cosme and the WYE. During the 25th and 26th of May Berlin visitors can also participate at creative workshops with the artists. More info here.

And look at the creative way of hiding a bottle of beer during an official speech. Must take notes.

Mehr Info here.
